Wissam Fakih
Class of 2021
Wissam is a multimedia broadcast producer who was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon. She graduated from the Université Libanaise, Faculté d’Information et Documentation, with a BA in communication arts, double majoring in Public Relations and Advertising. Having to witness most of the Lebanese civil war gave her a deeper purpose on which to concentrate throughout her career working on issues related to vulnerable women and children. When she moved to the US following an exchange program with US Global Media Agency, she focused her work on visual investigative stories related to topics like immigration, racial and social justice, homelessness and opioid addiction. Wissam hopes to focus more on issues related to female refugees, so she can develop her own project of empowering Arab females subject to displacement in the Middle East. In addition to her passion for the Arab world, Wissam’s haven is her kitchen (when time permits) where she bakes and makes the best Tabboulé ever.
