Shauna graduated with high distinction from Trinity College at University of Toronto, where she majored in International Relations and Peace Conflict and Justice through the Munk School of Global Affairs and minored in Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations. During her undergraduate degree Shauna served as Trinity's Head of College and sat on multiple administrative, equity, and financial boards. In 2020 she studied democratic decay during the pandemic through a research grant from the office of the vice president of the university.
