Research Interests: Political mobilization of women and youth, MENA regional governance
Renelle graduated from Cornell University with a major in Government and triple minors in Arabic, French, and Near Eastern Studies. As a Ronald E. McNair Scholar, she researched democratic backsliding, political mobilization, and regional governance in the Arab world. Renelle leveraged her deep interest in language, culture, and politics to serve as a Teaching Assistant for Arabic language courses offered to incarcerated peoples through the Cornell Prison Education Program. She is also a recipient of the Critical Language Scholarship to Oman, which she participated in virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a 2021 Thomas R. Pickering Fellow, Renelle looks forward to her future in the Foreign Service and a career of diplomatic service representing the United States.
