Born in Jerusalem and raised in Amman, faced with a poster of Jerusalem hills overlooking the Old City at each visit to his grandmothers house, Michel feels a deep link to the Arab world. Michel graduated with distinction in Political Science from San Diego State University in 2021, where he studied Political Science and Economics and minored in History. After an educational time in the chocolate trading business in Sudan and Djibouti following graduation, Michel is taking a step towards his vocation by joining the MAAS program at Georgetown, where he plans to explore and write about the political and ideological currents of the Arab world, and hopes to contribute a small kernel to its positive development. He is committed to using his academic and writing skills to address the region's complexities and promote informed, self-reflective political discourse that can lead to the regions autonomous political, social, cultural, and economic growth.
