Research Interests: U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East; refugees, migration, and humanitarian emergencies; humanitarian and human rights law
Marwa is experienced in human rights and policy advocacy. She graduated summa cum laude from Drew University with undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Economics. Upon graduating, Marwa became the Paralegal for the ACLU Human Rights Program, where she deepened her knowledge of international law and accountability mechanisms. She supported human rights litigation, coordinated advocacy before international human rights bodies, and wrote shadow reports and communications to UN human rights experts. Additionally, Marwa pursued the Human Rights Defenders Advocacy Training Program with the International Service for Human Rights in Geneva, Switzerland. She previously interned with the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law.
