At Georgetown she hopes to explore the impacts of economic development programming and other U.S. government interventions on state-building in the Middle East, particularly in fragile contexts like Syria.
Prior to joining USAID, Liz graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Middle Eastern Studies/Arabic. While at BYU, she worked in the private sector at World Trade Center Utah, helping companies identify opportunities to engage with Middle East markets. She also interned at the Women’s Islamic Initiative in Spirituality and Equality (WISE) under Daisy Khan.
In her free time, Liz loves to explore new restaurants around DC, work on knitting projects, and attempt complicated recipes she’s seen on the Great British Baking Show.
