Ian is a student researcher from Roanoke, Virginia. He is a summa cum laude graduate of the College of William & Mary, where he studied International Relations with an Arabic minor and conducted field research on democratic backsliding in Tunisia. Prior to joining CCAS, Ian also served as a Legislative Assistant in the Virginia House of Delegates and a Congressional Affairs Intern at Arab Center Washington DC. Through the MAAS program, Ian hopes above all else to explore how the productive tensions of conflicting ideas could guide world political and social reform.
