Research interests: Human rights, development and empowerment, transitional justice and political economy in MENA.
Donia graduated from Macalester college with a double major in International Studies and Political Science, a concentration on Middle Eastern studies, and a minor in Data Science. Following her graduation, she worked for a year as a program associate for the Thomas Jefferson Scholarship Program with IREX, where she mentored Tunisian exchange students. During her undergraduate studies, she interned with the MENA division of Human Rights Watch, the UNDP, Advocates for Human Rights and the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. After MAAS, Donia hopes to continue advocating for human rights in the Middle East and participate in development programs.
