Courtland holds a B.A. in Political Sciences and enjoys researching the political efficacy of non-movements, the intersection of space, identity, and production of nationalist attachments, and the memory and exposure to specific events, along with their impact on political beliefs. Courtland’s master’s thesis topic analyzes How Arab and Islamic Queer Female Authors Are Reckoning with Socio-Political Structures through Literary Production and Consumption. Her past papers have ranged from "The Ethics of the UN Security Council" to "The Politics of Urbanity and Spatial Ownership."
