Research Interests: Authoritarian governance, historiography, political activism, cultural and linguistic rights, critical theory, postcolonial international relations in the Middle East & North Africa, political geography
Jasper is currently studying Regional and Comparative Studies with a focus on the Middle East and North Africa at Georgetown's School of Foreign Service and is set to receive his bachelor's degree in 2025. In the summer of 2022, he studied abroad in Amman, Jordan to learn Modern Standard Arabic and colloquial Levantine Arabic. Jasper is currently the Middle East Librarian Assistant at Georgetown's Joseph Mark Lauinger Memorial Library. He is motivated to learn more about archival research in the Middle East and during his time in the MAAS program he hopes to research cultural production and the circulation of information in the Middle East and North Africa.
