Research Interests: Energy politics, religion and politics in MENA, history of the Islamic West (711-1195), modern North African literature, classical Arabic literature
Felix achieved First Class Honours in the final year of his BA in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Cambridge in 2024, and was awarded the Bhaonagar Medal for his success in Sanskrit Studies. His research interests are broad: His thesis explored ethnic relations in 11th Century Andalusia, while he has also studied Classical Arabic Literature, Religion, and Oil Politics in MENA. In 2022, he interned at the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, working on Urban Development in North Africa, and in 2023, he studied for a year in Cairo. At Georgetown, Felix hopes to deepen his understanding of the intricate political balances in the region, with a focus on environmental security, while also learning Persian from scratch.
