Alex grew up in the south of France before earning a first-class degree in International Relations from the London School of Economics (LSE). His dissertation, which explored the use of drones under the Obama Administration, will soon be published by the Cambridge Journal of Law, Politics, and Art. Outside academia, Alex has interned at the United Nations and was a party delegate at COP26 in Glasgow and COP27 in Sharm El-Sheikh. He was also a research intern at CSIS Indonesia in Jakarta, focusing on AI-related information disorder in presidential elections, radicalisation patterns of pro-IS actors, and political violence in West Papua.
While making the most of classes and Arabic language training at CCAS, Alex is branching out by taking macroeconomic and finance courses within SFS. During the summer, he studied Arabic in Oman and Egypt, took the time to explore Saudi, and collaborated with and published in Gulf International Forum. In his free time, he enjoys watching Succession and going to the sauna.
