Ingie Gohar graduated with highest honors in the Political Science honors program from the American University in Cairo, specializing in international relations and minoring in creative writing. During her studies, she was a teaching and research assistant, and she contributed to multiple publications. Ingie's academic accomplishments include presenting her research on the failure of Jewish emancipation in Tsarist Russia at AUC's Annual Conference for Excellence in Undergraduate Research, Entrepreneurship, and Creative Achievement, along with completing her undergraduate thesis, which investigated the notion of freedom as experienced by individuals in the MENA region, utilizing theories built on both positivist and non-positivist approaches in order to grasp the complexity of freedom in different societies.

Ingie also pursued political economy, global security, and criminology courses during her study abroad program at the University of Edinburgh.

In 2022, she interned at the Arab League, researching and producing reports in Arabic for the disarmament and mass destruction department. She then worked as a program assistant with USAID at the American University in Cairo.

Upon graduating in 2023, Ingie transitioned to journalism, joining Enterprise, Egypt's leading news publication, reporting on business, economic, and political news in the MENA region.
