Shifaa graduated from the School of Foreign Service in regional and comparative studies focusing on the MENA region and Eastern Europe focusing on economic development. After leaving Georgetown and before finding her way back to it, she moved back to the Gulf where she was raised and professionally mostly worked within the consulting and research spaces focusing on issues related to education and healthcare equity and access through working with Ministries of Health and Education across Bahrain, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia. Beyond the professional world, Shifaa found a passion in storytelling, working on films and podcasts in her spare time to share a few tidbits on Khaleeji culture and art. At CCAS, she hopes to further those intersections conducting further research on social policy in the Gulf and perhaps telling a few more stories along the way.
