Timothy Kaldas, a 2008 MAAS alum and professional photographer living in Cairo, has published a number of exceptional photographs of the pro-democracy demonstrations taking place.
In his January 31 post, he writes: “Saturday after the police withdrew from the streets Egypt was a new country. In Cairo we saw civilians all over the place directing traffic, picking up trash, and organizing neighborhood watches to protect their communities. Here are images from the past two days. Please share them far and wide and show people what’s happening here.”
