Interested in teaching in the Arab Studies program at Georgetown?
Each academic year, the Arab Studies program reviews proposals from colleagues interested in teaching a class in our program (i.e., one class taught as a part-time adjunct professor). The decision about whether to mount an adjunct course is primarily a curricular one (i.e. does this course fit our curricular needs?). In addition, we consider past teaching experience, research and our own budgetary situation from year to year.
If you have a course you would like to propose, please submit a minimum of a one-page proposal that includes course description, goals, and potential readings. If you have a past syllabus that you could share, please upload that as well.
In addition to the course proposal, please submit the following:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Note: Please list previous teaching experience on CV
- Past student evaluations of your teaching
- Other teaching evaluations and/or references
Please send this information to the CCAS Director of Graduate Studies, Prof. Rochelle Davis firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Fall Semester (Aug-Dec) course proposals should be submitted by Dec. 1st
- Spring Semester (Jan-May) course proposals should be submitted by August 1st
