Grace Nuri
Class of 2027
Grace is an accelerated master’s student completing her undergraduate degree in Computational Linguistics and Arabic as well as her graduate degree in Arab Studies. After studying abroad in Jordan through the CET program in 2022, Grace returned to Amman for two summers to build a community art initiative for refugees at Collateral Repair Project (CRP), a refugee community center addressing the academic, employment, and livelihood needs of refugees from the SWANA region. At CRP, she deepened her interest in understanding the intersections between the environment, migration, and technological development in the Arab world.
She is currently a Research Assistant at the Georgetown Center for Social Justice for the Christian Communities of the Middle East project, where she conducts metadata tree tagging on Arabic and Neo-Aramaic interviews with Iraqi Christians. She joins CCAS excited to explore narratives of the Arab world on a deeper level, motivated by her love for Arabic music and her Iraqi heritage. Outside of academics, she enjoys learning the oud, playing saxophone in the Georgetown Jazz Ensemble, and working as a barista.
