Dylan Joseph Herman
Class of 2027
Dylan grew up in upstate New York before moving to the United Arab Emirates to pursue a B.A. in Arab Studies at New York University Abu Dhabi. Throughout his undergraduate studies, he focused deeply on the MENA region and the Arabic language, spending a year in Amman, Jordan, as a Boren Scholar and later studying in Nizwa, Oman, as a Critical Language Scholarship recipient.
Dylan’s undergraduate research centered on Gulf urban society, with particular attention to how Abu Dhabi’s city-branding strategies influence broader urban dynamics. Drawing on his experiences living, studying, and working across the region, he is eager to further explore these issues and contribute to ongoing conversations in Georgetown’s MAAS community.
