Research Interests: forced migration, the politics of refugee camps, social inequality, and humanitarian responses in the MENA region
Ethan graduated from Dickinson College in 2020 with a BA in sociology and Arabic. For his undergraduate thesis, he conducted ethnographic research in Baqa’a refugee camp to study how camps shape notions of belonging among Palestinian-Jordanians and how such experiences inform attitudes towards Syrian refugees in Jordan. In addition to his undergraduate coursework, Ethan has studied Arabic at the Middlebury Arabic Language School and with CET Jordan. Before coming to Georgetown, Ethan worked for Global Kids, a non-profit that works to educate, activate, and inspire youth from underserved communities to take action on critical social issues.
