Lauren Remaley

Research Interests:Refugees, migration, and humanitarian emergencies; the environment and migration; conflict’s effect on the environment; health and food security in the Middle East.
Lauren graduated from the George Washington University in 2019. While a 2019-2020 Boren scholar in Amman, Jordan Lauren interned as a translator at Syria Direct and taught English at the Collateral Repair Project. She has also freelance translated at 7iber and Industry Arabic. Before joining MAAS, she worked in international development on projects focused on promoting entrepreneurship and women’s economic empowerment in the Levant. Currently, Lauren is the Syria Media Roundup Editor at Jadaliyya. While a student in MAAS Lauren is pursuing Georgetown’s certificate in Refugees, Migration, and Humanitarian emergencies, as well as a certificate in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from the department of Geography, Environment, and Spatial Sciences at Michigan State University.
