Samir Saad

Samir Saad is a historian of the late nineteenth and twentieth century Arab Mashriq. His research explores intellectual movements and countermovements, law-making, and institution-building in moments of state formation and constitutional change. Saad is currently working on a manuscript on the history of the civil codes of Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, and Jordan. Saad earned his PhD in Middle Eastern History from the University of Cambridge, where he also received an MPhil.
