Diogo Bercito

Diogo Bercito is a journalist, historian, and novelist. He worked as a foreign correspondent for the leading Brazilian newspaper Folha de S.Paulo in Jerusalem and Madrid. He holds a Ph.D. in History from Georgetown University, where he also earned an M.A. in Arab Studies. His doctoral dissertation, Arabs at a Conjuncture, investigates the construction of ethnicity in Brazil from 1870 to 1954. His book Brimos, on the history of Arab political participation in Brazil, was a finalist for the Jabuti Prize.
