Lena Arkawi, a recipient of CCAS’s Qatar Scholarship Program, was the subject of a local news report in her home state of Arizona. The Qatar Scholarship Program is administered by the Center and offers scholarships to dedicated Arabic language students in the United States to study the language at Qatar University in Doha for an academic year.
During the segment Lena, a recent graduate of Arizona State University, expresses her interest in mastering the language in order to communicate with her grandmothers in Syria as well as working to create understanding between the Middle East and the West.
