Oberoi Distinguished Roundtable: Mobility, Exchange & Transformations in the Indian Ocean World

April 21, 2016, 6:00-8:30pm, Bioethics Library, Healy Hall. This distinguished roundtable convenes eminent scholars whose works engage with networks of exchange in the overland and maritime regions called the Silk Roads. The panelists will discuss interdisciplinary approaches to the historical movement of people, commodities, ideas, and capital across the Indian Ocean, and explain how these exchanges may inform our contemporary understandings of world history and emerging globalization.
