Nicole graduated from the University of Minnesota in 2019 with a B.A. in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. During her time in school, she studied abroad in Amman, Jordan and then stayed after the program ended to work as a Yemen intern for a British contracting company before returning back to Minnesota to complete her B.A. Her senior thesis focused on tribal poetry under the conditions of conflict in Yemen, exploring the social implication of the civil war for women in Yemen. She now works as the Research Assistant for the Middle East at the Heritage Foundation, and hopes to cultivate her skillset as an aspiring scholar in the Middle East through MAAS.
