Maddie Fisher

Research Interests: Education development, conflict resolution and dialogue, sectarianism and interfaith relations in the MENA region
Maddie is a first-year student in the MAAS program concentrating on development in the Arab world. Maddie graduated from Georgetown with a BA in Arabic and a minor in Linguistics in 2017. After graduating, she received a Fulbright award to teach English at a secondary school in Amman Jordan where she also was a research intern at Jordan's Royal Institute for Interfaith Studies and volunteered with organizations that focus on empowerment and education for refugee girls. In 2018, Maddie was a MENAR fellow working in a mixed Israeli and Palestinian school assisting with the English and Arabic courses and helping launch the school's dialogue program. Maddie also works for SFS as the CCAS Events Coordinator and the MSFS Events and Communications Coordinator.
