Research Interests: Sectarian politics in the Levant, identity and conflict, Israel and Palestine, human security, U.S. Foreign Policy in the Middle East
Doug graduated summa cum laude from St. Lawrence University in 2020 with a B.A. in Government and minors in Arabic and Mathematics. While at St. Lawrence, Doug spent two weeks studying conflict in Israel and Palestine and a semester in Amman, Jordan studying Arabic and Middle Eastern Studies. While in Jordan, Doug explored near Muscat, Oman and Beirut, Lebanon. Following his experience abroad, Doug worked with refugee youth and taught citizenship classes in Syracuse, NY. At CCAS, Doug hopes to study international politics and their convergence with the Arab world, focusing on traditional and human-security issues. After graduation, Doug hopes to work as a foreign policy analyst addressing issues in the Levant and greater Middle East.
