Anna graduated from the University of St Andrews in 2020 with a Bachelor’s in International Relations and Arabic. For her final year dissertation, she conducted a critical discourse analysis comparing the Trump administration’s discourse on immigration with the discursive campaign of Bush’s “war on terror.” In addition to her undergraduate program, Anna has studied Arabic at the Lebanese American University in Beirut and the Middlebury Summer Arabic program. During the summer of 2019, She worked as a public affairs intern at the US Embassy in Oman. Since graduating, Anna has worked as a development intern at Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Arts, a Chicago museum specialized in untrained and self-taught artists. During her time in the MAAS program, Anna hopes to concentrate in politics with a specific focus on critical security issues in the Levant and contemporary political expression through art and literature in the Arab World.
