CCAS offers a Certificate of Arab Studies at both the graduate and undergraduate level. As part of the undergraduate certificate program, students write and present a capstone research paper in conjunction with the class “Understanding the Arab World,” which was taught this year by Professor Fida Adely. This year, four seniors completed the Arab Studies Undergraduate Certificate program and presented their capstone papers in a colloquium on April 15, 2019. Dr. Fida Adely, Academic Director at CCAS, gave the opening remarks. We are pleased to congratulate this year’s cohort on their excellent research projects and presentations:

Noura Kattan: “Refugee Stairway to Prosperity: Education”

Jake Moran: “The Rise of Saudi Arabia: Influences of U.S. Middle East Policy”

Virginia Valenti: “Rashid Rida and His Lifelong Struggle for Muslim Independence”

Jeffrey Wu: “Saudi Arabia Military Industries: Feasibility, Utility, and the Challenges Ahead”
