Course Proposals - Center for Contemporary Arab Studies | Georgetown University

Course Proposals

Interested in teaching in the Arab Studies program at Georgetown?

Each academic year, the Arab Studies program reviews proposals from colleagues interested in teaching a class in our program (i.e., one class taught as a part-time adjunct professor).  The decision about whether to mount an adjunct course is primarily a curricular one—(i.e. Does this course fit our curricular needs?).  In addition, we consider past teaching experience, research and our own budgetary situation from year to year.

If you have a course you would like to propose, please submit a minimum of a one page proposal that includes course description, goals and potential readings.  If you have a past syllabus that you could share, please upload that as well.

In addition to the course proposal, please submit the following:

  1. CV (please make sure CV lists previous teaching experience)
  2. Past student evaluations of your teaching
  3. Other teaching evaluations and/or references

For fall courses (Aug-Dec):  Proposals should be submitted by Dec. 1st

For spring Courses (Jan-May):  Proposals should be submitted by August 1st
