CCAS 2008 Annual Symposium "Industrialization in the Gulf: A Socioeconomic Revolution"

The Arab-Persian Gulf has witnessed an explosion of economic growth in the past several decades. This unprecedented expansion has resulted in serious sociopolitical, demographic, and economic consequences. To address the dynamic transformation that is taking place in the region, the Executive Committee at the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies is pleased to announce that it dedicated the Center’s 2008 Annual Symposium to this imperative subject. "Industrialization in the Gulf: A Socioeconomic Revolution" took place on March 27 and 28 at Georgetown University.
