Andrew grew up in South Dakota, and graduated summa cum laude from the University of Minnesota in 2008, with a B.A. in political science and history and a minor in South Asian and Middle Eastern studies.
Andrew spent the summer of 2007 in Cairo, Egypt, conducting field research for his senior thesis, which examined the economic and political ramifications of recent changes in the volunteer charity sector.
Additionally, Andrew has been involved with the Soliya-Connect Program, which seeks to create cross-cultural dialogue between the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East by providing college students with an opportunity to interact via videoconferencing technology.
