Paola Emmerson (1987) writes: “I am currently working with the UN in Geneva (first time in headquarters) after close to a year in Cote d'Ivoire where I worked on supporting the government driven electoral process. In Geneva, besides enjoying the lake and mountains, I am workin,g on coordination of humanitarian assistance in the Asia & Pacific region.

Christine Trigg
(1992) writes: “Hello to my fellow classmates. More of you need to write in so we can keep up with each other! I moved to New Delhi with my family last year. I am working as a consultant in international development again and enjoying it very much. Most recently I worked with CARE India on a post-tsunami development proposal. I also help coordinate a group studying the history of Delhi, most of it under Muslim rulers so it feels very familiar. It is amazing how the history of the Muslim conquest still influences current politics and opinions. India is a fascinating country and despite the news headlines, most of the time people of many different religions exhibit tolerance and friendship as they work together in daily life. There is a lot to learn here, including Hindi /Urdu which has many Arabic loan words! My children, Indigo and Aiden, are 10 and 12 now and attend the international school here and my husband, Doug, is with Microsoft. If you are in the area please look me up: christinetrigg@hotmail.com I am also interested in a house trade with anyone in the "Middle East" Europe or Far East.!”

Judith Scholar Winfield (1992) recently started a new job managing a six year program to enhance enterprise activity in disadvantaged areas of North Nottinghamshire and North Derbyshire in the UK. The program is aimed at improving business growth, business start-ups, enterprise skills and general employment opportunities through training and support to job seekers. She still lives in Mansfield, UK if any former MAASers are ever in England (JScholarW@aol.com).

Michele Miller (1995) gave birth to Muriel Adelle Hammond on June 19th 2006. Muriel joins her two-year old sister Cordelia in the Miller-Hammond household.

We've just moved to Philadelphia, where Jeff is beginning a joint MBA/MA program at Wharton, and I have accepted a position as the Associate Director of Communications and Outreach for the Office of International Programs at the University of Pennsylvania. I would love to hear from any MAASers in town: jgherardi@hotmail.com.”

Manal Omar (2001) writes: “For most of you I have dropped off the face of the earth for some months. Just when you thought your prayers were answered, I am back! As some may know, I have moved to Oxford to join Oxfam. It is an absolutely wonderful organization and helping restore my faith in the development field! I am excited that in addition to Iraq I will be working on my beloved Palestine and many other Middle Eastern countries. I have a nice place in Oxford, so if you are in the vicinity please stop on by! Please do stay in touch.momar@oxfam.org.uk”
