The Saturday seminar for high school teachers, “Using Literature to Teach About the Arab World,” was held on May 6, 2006 and allowed teachers to get some first-hand experience with Arab literature.
The week-long teacher outreach workshop was held June 26-30, 2006, and brought 27 area teachers to the Georgetown campus. The premise of the program is to introduce different ways of learning and teaching about the Middle East and Islam through diverse multidisciplinary perspectives.
On September 19, CCAS Outreach Coordinator Zeina Seikaly organized and held a workshop on the formation of modern Lebanon in response to many requests by local educators for a tutorial on the historical context of the most recent developments in the region.
