Rochelle Davis, an assistant professor at CCAS, received a National Endowment for the Humanities Grant at the American Center for Oriental Research in Amman, Jordan. The grant funded a research project entitled “Palestinians in Jordan and Memories of Village Life Before 1948.” This research of Palestinian memorial books and village histories, conducted between April and July of this year, focused on the composition of those histories as products of individual memory and collective history and narrative style. The research aims to understand how Palestinians are currently composing the history of the pre-1948 past.
