Kristin Smith, "The Kuwait Finance House and the Islamization of Public Life in Kuwait."

Kristin Smith is this year’s CCAS Qatar Post-Doctoral Fellow. Her recent publications include: “The Kuwait Finance House and the Islamization of Public Life in Kuwait,” in Clement M. Henry and Rodney Wilson, eds., The Politics of Islamic Finance (Edinburgh: Edinburgh University Press, 2004). She presented a paper entitled “Islamic Banking and the Politics of International Financial Harmonization,” at the American Political Science Association conference, Chicago, September 2004. This spring she is teaching a graduate seminar on the “Politics of Reform in the Arab Gulf.”

Meanwhile, in November she gave birth to her family's second child, Nina Amal Diwan, at 8lbs 3oz, 20.5 inches. Congratulations!
