Summer Arabic Language Institute
Every summer, the Department of Arabic & Islamic Studies offers language courses which are open to non-degree seeking individuals. For more information, please consult the Summer School or Department of Arabic websites.
School of Continuing Studies
Georgetown allows qualified non-degree seeking students to enroll in selected courses for credit (including some in the Arab Studies program). Interested individuals should consult the School of Continuing Studies for more information on courses, applications and necessary approvals. Please note: the Arab Studies program will only allow Continuing Studies students to enroll in Arab Studies courses if space is available.
Qatar Scholarship Program
The Qatar Scholarship Program offers dedicated Arabic language students from the United States the opportunity to master their skills in an intensive Arabic language program at the University of Qatar in Doha. The program runs from September to June and covers residence costs, travel expenses, tuition, books and a stipend. Scholarship recipients will be enrolled in the Department of Arabic of the College of Arts and Sciences for one academic year, in a program for non-native speakers. Qatar Post-Doctoral Fellowship
The Qatar Post-Doctoral Fellowship was established by a generous grant from the State of Qatar to the Center for Contemporary Arab Studies (CCAS) at Georgetown University. The fellowship will support a recent PhD working on the topic of US-Arab Relations or Islamic Studies for one academic year. The Fellow is required to teach a small seminar on a topic of their choosing, among other duties. For more information and an application, please consult this web page.
Visiting Scholars
The Visiting Scholars program at Georgetown University's Center for Contemporary Arab Studies (CCAS) was established to accommodate the visiting researchers who wish to use the facilities and faculty resources of Georgetown University for research purposes. The University extends its resources on a selective basis in the spirit of institutional collegiality and to foster the further development of knowledge.
