Ms. Valosik joined the CCAS as Multimedia and Publications Editor in November 2014. Prior to joining the Center, Ms. Valosik worked at AMIDEAST, where she managed several large educational and cultural exchange programs for students and professionals from the Middle East and North Africa. She holds an M.A. in Nonfiction Writing from Johns Hopkins University and an M.A. in Sociology from the University of South Alabama. For her graduate sociology thesis, Ms. Valosik conducted survey and interview research in Damascus, Syria. She currently serves as Assistant Editor for the Arab Studies Journal. Her writings have appeared in The Atlantic, International Educator, Smithsonian Magazine, Slate, American Scholar, Washington Post Magazine, US News & World Report and Philadelphia Inquirer, among others. In addition to her work as editor at CCAS, Ms. Valosik teaches a year-long thesis workshop for MAAS students.
