Vicki Valosik joined CCAS as the Multimedia and Publications Editor in 2014. She is also an adjunct faculty member  within Georgetown’s School of Foreign Service, where she teaches “Fundamentals of Writing for Graduate Students,” and a thesis-writing workshop. She holds an M.A. in Nonfiction Writing from Johns Hopkins University and an M.A. in Sociology from the University of South Alabama. For her graduate sociology thesis, Vicki conducted survey and interview research in Damascus, Syria. Her writings have appeared in The Atlantic, International Educator, Smithsonian Magazine, Slate, American Scholar, Washington Post Magazine, US News & World Report and Philadelphia Inquirer, among others. She is a regular guest lecturer on various writing topics for undergraduate and graduate students at Johns Hopkins University and Georgetown, and has also led a professional-development writing workshop at the University of Kurdistan in Erbil, Iraq. Prior to joining the Georgetown community, Vicki worked at AMIDEAST, where she managed several large educational and cultural exchange programs for students and professionals from the Middle East and North Africa.
